Cool Twitter Shortcuts

I happened to stumble upon a tweet-link today and it got me quite excited, too! I’m sure we all love shortcuts, (Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V are just 2 of my favorites, LOL).

So what happens when you feel like tweeting but you don’t want to use the mouse? Perhaps you want to DM (direct message) somebody without having to make more clicks, or reply someone’s tweet by typing just one character? Or you want to go back-track your tweets by simply pressing 2 characters? Of course, that’d be cool!

So without further ado, just follow this procedure:

Step 1:   Log on to twitter.com.

Step 2.  Type-in the question mark sign (‘ ? ‘) and you will see a set of keyboard shortcuts, as shown below.

Step 3.  Try to familiarize these shortcuts and click the ‘x‘ sign to close the pop-up. Give it a try right now!

Examples:

  • Type ‘n‘ and the new tweet pop-up comes out.
  • Type ‘j‘ or ‘k‘ to scroll each tweet.
  • Type ‘r‘ to reply to a certain tweet.
  • Type ‘g  r‘ to go your mentions or replies

Coolness, right? Now you can also send a direct message using the ‘What’s happening?‘ text-area. Just follow the syntax below:

d <twitter-name> <your DM>

Example:

d donzzycdo Hey Donz, thanks for this twitter tip!

Tip: Type only one space after ‘d’ as it becomes a public tweet once exceeded.
