View Lyrics While Playing Songs

In the midst of our busy lives whether at the office or at home, we can’t help but still turn on those speakers together with our favorite media players. And speaking of media players, one of my personal favorites is Winamp (I’m currently using version 5.61 now). Winamp has been very popular for many years now. Just recently, I happened to discover another cool feature from this media player – how to display a song’s lyrics while playing in just a single click!

But of course, you should have your internet connection in order to enjoy this. Assuming you already have your Winamp installed, follow the simple procedure below. (Not using Winamp? Download it here!

Step 1. Run Winamp and load all your songs from the Media Library, or simply drag-and-drop songs from your music folder to the Playlist editor.

Step 2. On your left pane, go to “Online Services” and click “MetroLyrics“.

Step 3. Play any song of your choice and its lyrics will appear in just a bit. (See sample below.)

Tips:

Now, I’ve encountered some songs, which MetroLyrics can’t fetch. Actually you need to do a little bit of tweaking your tracks for this glitch. Right-click on that track and click “View file info”.

1. Most of the time, the “Title” and “Artist” are blank, so you have to type in the fields.

2. If not, the fields have incorrect information (misspelled song title/artist).

3. Try to omit the unnecessary words like “feat. [Artist’s Name]”. Simply retain the Artist’s Name (excluding his/her collaboration) and the Song Title.

These tricks should work perfectly fine!
